Descrizione

The Apollo Theater, an architectural and historical jewel, has roots that date back to 1789, when the architect Antonio Galli Bibiena conceived the design of this elegant and fascinating structure. Its inauguration took place the following year, in 1790, with the performance of the opera “La clemenza di Tito” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, thus marking the beginning of a long and illustrious history in the local theater scene.

Over the centuries, the Apollo Theater has gone through various phases, including a significant restoration in 1987 that helped preserve its original appearance and cultural importance for future generations.

From an architectural point of view, the Apollo Theater stands out as a classic example of Italian theater, characterized by its elliptical plan and the decorative richness of the stuccoes, frescoes and gilding that adorn its walls and ceilings.

With a seating capacity of just 99, the theater offers an intimate and immersive experience for spectators, while its beauty and charm are further accentuated by the captivating hues of the floral elements that adorn the laced ceilings.

In addition to its architectural beauty, the Apollo Theater has played a significant role in the cultural life of the local community, becoming a center of entertainment and gathering place for the inhabitants of the area. Even today, with its working mechanisms and timeless charm, the Apollo Theater continues to enchant and inspire those who are lucky enough to walk through its doors.
