Descrizione

The parish church of St Anthony the Abbot houses fine works by two local artists: a painting by Presutti from Fano and one by Guerrieri from Foresmprone, depicting ‘The Immaculate Conception’ and ‘The Visitation’ respectively.

Its history has its roots in ancient times, dating back to the 14th century, when the Christian faith was at the heart of community life.

The church, dedicated to St Anthony the Abbot, patron saint of animals and protector against fire, has witnessed numerous events that have shaped local history. Over the centuries, it has undergone various architectural transformations, yet it has always retained its timeless charm and its central role in the spiritual life of the community.

The stone walls that surround it tell stories of devotion, prayer and hope. Inside, the frescoes and works of sacred art reflect the art and spirituality of the era in which they were created, offering a journey through time via faith and culture.

Over the centuries, the Church of St Anthony the Abbot has been a point of reference for the faithful, a place of gathering and reflection, as well as a symbol of identity for the Serrungarino community. Even today, with its grandeur and beauty, it continues to inspire and jealously safeguard the traditions and spirituality of days gone by, offering a haven of peace and serenity to all who cross its threshold.
