Descrizione
In the heart of the Marche, the Museum of Peasant Civilization in Mombaroccio offers a journey through time through rural life, from the late eighteenth century to the 70s of the twentieth century. Founded in the eighties thanks to the enthusiasm and work of volunteers led by Varis Iacucci, the museum is committed to preserving the historical and cultural memory of the region’s agricultural, artisanal and domestic work. Housed in the cellars of the former fifteenth-century Convent of the Order of the Girolomini, the museum has twelve rooms that exhibit over a hundred objects: from the sieve seeder to the vintage carriage, passing through the cobbler’s tools and much more.
The exhibition is divided into different sections, each dedicated to an aspect of peasant life: from ploughing to sowing, from harvesting and harvesting to viticulture, from oil and wine production to breeding and crafts, up to the objects of everyday life. Visiting the Museum of Peasant Civilization means immersing yourself in the traditions of the past, discovering the tools and working techniques that have characterized the life of farmers in the Marche for centuries. An educational and touching experience that allows you to appreciate the deep roots of a community and the indissoluble bond with the land.
