Romanesque-Gothic church.

One of the oldest buildings in Pergola is the church of Santa Maria di Piazza, dating back to the year 1000; the pointed arch portal remains from its original Romanesque-Gothic structure.

Of particular interest is the mid-15th-century fresco discovered behind the altar, which is completely missing its central section – this was destroyed to make way for the niche, and only the face of Christ has survived.
